Knitted fabric is a fabric formed by knitting the regular movement of yarns to form loops, and loops and loops are intertwined with each other. Therefore, the loop is the smallest basic unit of knitted fabric.
This is also an important mark for identifying knitted fabrics.
Weaving knitted fabrics can use a wide range of raw materials, including cotton, wool, silk, hemp, chemical fiber, and their blended yarn or cross yarn.
According to different production methods, there are two types of weft knitting and warp knitting. In weft knitting, each yarn forms a loop in a course, and the loops formed by one yarn are arranged along the weft direction of the fabric; in warp knitting, each yarn is only formed in each course One or two stitches are then transferred to the next course to form stitches. The stitches formed by one yarn are arranged along the warp direction of the fabric. Therefore, in a weft-knitted fabric, one yarn can form a course, while in a warp-knitted fabric, many yarns form a course.
Technical characteristics of knitting
According to different technological characteristics, knitting production is divided into two categories: weft knitting and warp knitting. In the weft-knitting production, the cheese can be directly produced on the machine after the raw material has been winded. Each yarn is sequentially placed on the knitting needles of the weft knitting machine along the weft direction to form a weft-knitted fabric.
In warp knitting production, the raw materials are winded and warped, the yarns are wound in parallel to form a warp beam and then produced on the machine. The yarn retreats from the warp beam, and each yarn is placed on one or at most two knitting needles of the warp knitting machine along the longitudinal direction to form a warp-knit fabric.
On some knitting machines, there is also a method of combining weft knitting and warp knitting. At this time, two sets of yarns are arranged on the knitting machine, one set is inlaid according to the warp knitting method, and the other set is inlaid according to the weft knitting method. The knitting needles combine the two sets of yarns to form a loop to form a knitted fabric. The loops formed by the same yarn are arranged along the weft direction in the weft-knitted fabric, and along the warp direction in the warp knitted fabric.
